Welcome to the Digital Girls Club

” The Digital Girls Club is the first technology-education initiative aimed at closing the gender digital divide that has been spearheaded by the Ministry of Communications and Digital Economy of the  Federal Government of Nigeria. This initiative is being implemented across the country in secondary schools. “

The Digital Girls Club would greatly reduce the gender gap in computing in Nigeria, thereby increasing the number of women in the field in the nearest future

The club would also spark young girls’ curiosity in technology through activities that promote knowledge and discovery, thus bringing more women to the fore-front, who would join in as leaders and inventors of technology tomorrow. Through this initiativeNigerian Secondary school girls would develop an early interest in computing and related careers.

The Digital Girls Club will provide hands-on technology education for Nigerian girls in secondary schools through weekly workshops; to nurture interest in ICT amongst girls

Girls would be greatly encouraged to consider a technology career as lessons relate technology concepts and lessons to the real world applications

Girls interested in participating must register in the digital girls club of their schools before access to portal.

Parents/Guardians who want their girls to participate in the Digital Girls Club should contact their school to find out if the club already exists to enable them enroll their wards; otherwise, inform school to participate.
